Daisy Ray Ministries is a non-profit organization serving ladies of all ages in Walker and Catoosa County Georgia by providing hygiene items, clothing and connections to local resources.
We believe that all women can reach her goals no matter the circumstances. Through grace, encouragement and prayer, we help support women in our community.
If you or someone you know is in need of hygiene items, please fill out the assistance application under the "blessing boxes" tab, and we will reach out to let you know it was received.
For clothing, please sign up under the "free boutique" tab to make an appointment for our next open clothing closet date.
We were fortunate enough to be a part of the News Channel 9 and McMahan Law Firm's "Pay It Forward" segment in December 2024.
Kim Chapman and her team gave a realistic look into our ministry and showed why we do what we do.
Check it out!

I have lived in North Georgia all of my life and even though that's a gator in the photo, I am a bulldawg fan! I was an associate professor at a community college for 39 years. In retirement, I have found opportunities to serve the Lord in several ministries including The Georgia Baptist Mobile Health Ministry, Daisy Ray Ministries, Link@The Y and Team KW, an organization that serves others to honor the memory of my nephew. I worship with my church family at First Baptist Church of Lakeview. I love Bible studies, "sister trips", family vacations at the beach, setting fancy tables, shopping at thrift stores and spending time with my family.

My name is Karen Mathis, and I am very thankful for the opportunity to be a part of Daisy Ray Ministries! My husband Jeff and I celebrated 45 years of marriage in December 2024. We enjoy spending family time with our two daughters, son-in-laws, and grandchildren. We also love traveling, and plan camping trips as often as we can. I enjoy the beach, being outdoors, hiking, pickleball, and playing guitar and the piano. I retired from Walker County Schools, where I taught elementary school, middle school, and ended in administration. We are members of Rock Spring Methodist Church, and I am very thankful for the local ministries we have a chance to be a part of through our church. I first met Amanda (the founder of Daisy Ray Ministries) when she and my youngest daughter met playing rec softball together. They became close friends then, and their friendship has
continued through the years. I am very thankful that God put Amanda and her family into our lives, and I am so proud of how Amanda has followed God’s calling on her life to begin this women’s ministry.

I love sports (roll tide!), traveling and taking fun adventures with my family, planning events is my hobby, and spending time with my little family is my favorite thing to do. My family and I have been members at Peavine Baptist Church for 6 months now but have been going there for about 6 years.

My husband, Matt, and I have been married a little over 7 years, and we are the exhausted parents of two wild kiddos, Beckett (9) and Barrett (5). We are faithful members of Peavine Baptist Church in Rock Spring. Matt and I work from home together for our family's trucking company. We've survived this for almost 8 years, and contrary to popular assumption, it hasn't been too bad!
I am a huge introvert and often overshare out of awkwardness, so I'm usually hiding at the ministry. I find my peace decorating our building, sorting the clothing/shoes, organizing and reorganizing accessories, and maintaining full racks and shelves for our shoppers. When I'm not at the ministry, you can find me sipping on a coffee (my main food group), strolling the aisles of thrift stores, enveloped in my Bible study, doing projects around our house, creating a spreadsheet, jamming to worship music and/or at worship concerts, cheering for our kids during soccer season, and snuggling with our 3 dogs (a Great Pyrenees, German Shepherd and a pitty mix).

In 2023 God began stirring something in my heart that I couldn't ignore. He was calling me to start something to help women in my area, I just didn't know what that something was. While completing the Experiencing God Bible study through my church, it was clear that I had to take action. With the help of my wonderful sisters-in-law we started packing hygiene bags for an organization serving the unhoused population in Chattanooga. We also connected with a local non-profit serving new moms in our area, and God's once mysterious calling became abundantly clear: serve women in the community by meeting basic needs (like hygiene products and clothing) and engage them with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Since 2023, Daisy Ray Ministries has become my absolute passion. With the help of some amazing volunteers and board members, we have been able to share the gospel and meet needs for hundreds of ladies in Walker and Catoosa County.
